Dear Madeline:
You are growing so much! This last month has been full of new adventures for you. You are now 11 pounds 10 ounces. Which is in the 50 Th percentile. You are 22 inches long. You wear size 1 diapers and NB and 0 -3 clothing. You are a good eater. You have the cutest double chin and leg rolls. I am so glad you are healthy.
You are full of smiles now. You laugh occasionally especially when tickled. Your Aunt Rachel is the best at making you laugh. You still roll over sporadically. You are beginning to like to be held out so you can see everything that is going on. You still love the Bjorn. You still enjoy baths. But you hate getting dressed. especially when we put your arms in something. You aer discovering your hands. You like to suck our hand. I know you will someday be a finger sucker but for now its the whole hand. Something you really haven't mastered yet. You also hold your hands together. You also squeal in delight. It is so cute! You now like to grasp peoples finger. You try to reach out and touch things but have not mastered that quite yet. You enjoy a few minutes of tummy time. You can lift your body up on your tummy. You are still a mimicker. You stick out your tongue and cluck back. You even winked back to mommy. Sometimes when you make eye contact with me you stick out your tongue. It is darling, like you are showing off. You are a smart girl and proud of yourself. I hope you will always keep a healthy confidence. You are still not a great sleeper. You really fight it. You will sleep in the Momaroo now. I think the angle helps your reflux. Mommy doesn't eat most dairy, chocolate and onions as well to help your poor tummy. Daddy is your favorite. When we got your one month pictures taken only daddy could calm you down.
You even had your first plane ride. You were a pro, did not even make one peep. You went to Utah to visit family for the first time as well. Right at your one month point. You had so much fun being loved by the Hales side of the family. You even met Janet, Jessica, Sam, and Melissa. Jenny and Gretchen came and loved you as well. Everyone was so excited to see you. It made mommy so happy. Here you experienced your first Christmas. You participated in the Hales traditions. Great Grandpas for dinner and presents. You received your little lamb, pj's and some clothes and sleep sacks. We went back to Grammies and took pictures in our new PJ's and listened to Grandpa read the Night Before Christmas. Christmas morning was great, we sat on the stairs and then opened presents, and ate our traditional breakfast. Grammie and Grandpa gave you your first doll. We then flew home Christmas evening and stopped at Grandma Adams home for more fun presents. You received some really fun toys and clothes.
This month you also had your first hotel stay. Two stays actually. We have had the worst case of ants at our house. They made mom crazy. She wouldn't even cook in the home. So we had pest control come. To be safe for your health we stayed at a hotel for two nights. We had a blast relaxing and being free from ants. Unfortunately the ants did not go away. So we had to stay again at a hotel. They finally left our sweet abode.
You also had your first bottle. Mommy had some oral surgery done on her mouth. Grandma Adams and Aunt Rachel helped you while mommy was out of it. You didn't mind the bottle one bit. We gave you half formula and did have a bad case of constipation after though.
We are so blessed to have you in our lives. You are a happy beautiful baby. We love you!
